Reliable Source: Longtime local TV icon Arch Cambell leaves airwaves

Do not attempt to adjust your TV set, although you might feel compelled to. For the first time in four decades, you won't be seeing local TV icon Arch Campbell on air. Campbell, who reported on entertainment and pop culture, most recently for ABC affiliate WJLA and for 32 years before that for NBC's local station, is "taking a break," reports DCRTV. WJLA and NewsChannel 8, the longtime host's home since 2007, were recently sold by Albritton Communications to Sinclair Broadcasting Co.
